Glory
At The Alamo” The Beginning of the Alamo Siege - Alamo Plaza,
Saturday, February 27, 2010, 10:00 AM - 5:00PM. This FREE event depicts
the arrivial of General Santa Anna's forces in Bejar, the attempted
truce, and the opening solvos in the siege and battle of the
Alamo. Click

“Dawn
at the Alamo” - Presented on Friday, March 6, 2010, from 6-7AM,
in Alamo Plaza. This FREE event is a pre-dawn commemorative ceremony
honoring the fallen on both sides of the Alamo conflict.

Remembering
the Alamo” Weekend. Saturday & Sunday, March 6, (10:00AM
- 5:00PM) & March 7, (12:00AM -5:00PM) 2010. For God and Texas;
Dios y Libertad - FREE in Alamo Plaza. This event is a dramatization of
the events concening the final two days (March 5 and 6, 1836) of the 13
day Alamo siege by General Santa Anna's Army of Operations, played out
in Alamo Plaza. And, a special added vignette, the arrival of the
Gonzales Thirty-two. Click

“Come
and Take It in Gonzales” - Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4,
2009. We are invited this year to participate; come dressed and
do demonstrations or arts and crafts.

“Fall
at the Alamo” - Saturday, October 10, 2009. Set up will be
from 8am-5pm; dressed, do demonstrations. Lunch will be provided and
parking paid. This year, the contact person is Bill Barnett. He does
not have e-mail so you will need to call him at 210-826-2629 (HM) or
210-885-2761 (CELL). ALL persons interested MUST be on our attendance
sheet. (Mr. Barnett has the attendance sheet and that's why you must
call him).

“Founder's
Day” - Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Main Plaza. Will set
up and do demos. Bring your own lunch, since lunch will not be
provided. Sutler Store sets up.

“Battle
of Concepción” - Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 10:00 AM
- 4:00 PM, The historical encampment, demonstrations and battle will
take place across from Mission Concepción at St. Peter-St.
Joseph Children’s Home, 919 Mission Road. Admission is FREE.

“Battle
of Béxar and Capitulation of General Cos” - Saturday,
December 5, 2009, 10:00AM-4:00 PM, presented in Maverick Plaza and at
the Cos House in historic La Villita. Admission is FREE

SALHA membership includes participants and program supporters from
across Texas, the U.S., and Europe. The organization is open to anyone
regardless of age, race, creed, gender, ethnicity, or national origin.
Members of the San Antonio Living History Association volunteer, work
hard, have fun, and are dedicated towards accurately interpreting the
diverse cultures of San Antonio and Texas. Seeking growth to achieve
our goals, SALHA is always searching for more members. We need and
welcome all kinds of help for the presentation of our free public
educational programs.
You are cordially invited to help support and promote living history
interpretation by joining the San Antonio Living History Association at
several membership levels: Student ($10); Associate ($15); Regular
($25); Family ($35); Supporting ($50);
Benefactor ($100); Program Sponsor ($500+); or Event Sponsor ($1,000+).
You will receive the Béjar Dispatch newsletter, notice
of meetings, event dates of living history events in Texas, plus other
offers and historical information about this interesting and
educational activity. While SALHA events are presented free to the
public, the program costs are expensive. As a IRS tax exempt non-profit
organization, your supporting dues and sponsorships are tax deductible.
NOTE: Support members are not required to wear historical clothing!
Event and program support talents and abilities are needed from new
members experienced in clerical and computer skills, web site design,
fundraising, marketing, media & communications, benefit events,
newsletters, drama/theater, tailoring, graphics, …you-name-it!
